SSG Landers’ Choi Ji-hoon, who collided with teammate Kim Sung-hyun while fielding, has been diagnosed with a jaw joint contusion.

Choi started the first game of the doubleheader against the LG Twins of the 2023 Shinhan Bank Solar KBO League at Jamsil Stadium on Sunday as the No. 2 hitter in center field, but was replaced in the sixth inning after injuring his jaw.안전놀이터

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Choi Ji-hoon, who was running to catch Park Dong-won’s hit, collided with second baseman Kim Sung-hyun. Choi’s jaw collided with Kim’s face, and he fell to the ground, crying out in pain and unable to get up for a while.

After the medical staff checked his condition, Choi stood up but was immediately replaced by Ha Jae-hoon. Choi was taken to a hospital for a checkup and was removed from the starting lineup for the second game of the doubleheader against LG.

An SSG representative commented on Choi’s condition, saying, “The examination revealed a jaw joint muscle stiffness and a bruise. It is unlikely that he will be able to play today. We will continue to check his condition.”
